Indonesia, December 24, 2025 — Indonesia concluded its campaign at the 33rd Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 2025) in Thailand as runner-up in the overall medal tally, securing a total of 333 medals across multiple sports disciplines.

According to the official final medal count, the Indonesian contingent won 91 gold medals, 111 silver medals, and 131 bronze medals at the biennial multi-sport event held in Bangkok and surrounding provinces.

Thailand retained its position as champion of the Games, topping the medal table with a significantly higher total, while Vietnam and Malaysia followed in the rankings.

Minister of Youth and Sports Erick Thohir confirmed Indonesia’s runner-up position, noting the strong performance of the country’s athletes amid tough competition. He highlighted that Indonesia’s medal count was secured despite the possibility of further gains in late-stage events.

Indonesia’s SEA Games 2025 performance also surpassed expectations in several key sports. Athletes from disciplines such as athletics, swimming, pencak silat, and racket sports contributed significantly to the medal haul, reflecting the depth of talent and preparation across the national team.

The SEA Games, which ran from early to late December, brought together athletes from members of the Southeast Asian region in a showcase of regional sporting excellence. The 2025 edition, hosted by Thailand, featured hundreds of medal events across disciplines ranging from traditional Olympic sports to regional favorites.

Performance at this year’s Games is expected to influence future preparations for larger regional and global competitions, including the Asian Games 2026 and other international championships.

The Indonesian government and sporting bodies have applauded the athletes’ achievements, emphasizing that the strong medal count reflects the country’s growing competitiveness in the Southeast Asian sports arena.
