“Our residents are very enthusiastic, and thank God, the number of sacrificial animals this year has increased compared to last year. We are doing our best to ensure the process is orderly, hygienic, and maintains a spirit of unity,” said Mr. Soebroto after a committee meeting.
So far, 10 cows and 23 goats have been registered by residents wishing to participate in the qurban. The slaughtering is scheduled for Saturday, June 7, 2025, a day after the Eid prayer. This timing was chosen to ensure that the activities do not interfere with the Friday prayers at the mosque. The venue—located in front of Masjid Jami Baiturrahim—has already undergone cleaning and preparation since last weekend. Community members voluntarily joined in a collective clean-up effort, organizing both the slaughtering area and the meat distribution station.
The qurban committee has also arranged a fair and organized meat distribution system, prioritizing underprivileged families within the neighborhood. Environmentally friendly bags have been prepared to reduce plastic waste, and residents are encouraged to bring their own containers when possible.
Women from the RT 03 PKK (Family Welfare Movement) group are also playing an active role in managing food and logistics for the committee. “We want this occasion to be more than just about sacrifice—it’s also a time to strengthen our community bonds,” said Mrs. Kartiani, one of the PKK coordinators.
