Never-Ending Problems’: Fans Slam DAY6 Concert Mishandling in Jakarta

The DAY6 concert held on May 3, 2025, in Jakarta became the center of public attention after a series of unexpected issues marred the highly anticipated event.

The local promoter, Mecimapro, faced heavy criticism after abruptly moving the concert venue from the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) to the much smaller Madya Stadium at Gelora Bung Karno (GBK). The sudden change left many fans disappointed, claiming the new venue diminished the overall concert experience that had been promised.

The problems didn’t stop there. Numerous fans reported difficulties in purchasing tickets through the official Mecimashop site. Many experienced payment deductions without receiving tickets in return, with total reported losses reaching up to IDR 500 million. To make matters worse, the promoter reportedly offered no refund options, further aggravating the situation.

Frustration among fans peaked when they felt they were receiving inadequate responses from the promoter. In protest, the Indonesian fanbase of DAY6, known as MyDay, sent an open letter to the group’s agency, JYP Entertainment, urging them to intervene and resolve the ongoing issues.

Despite the chaos, the concert eventually went on, with enthusiastic support from fans who still attended. However, the incident highlighted the crucial importance of transparency and good communication between concert organizers and fans, especially for large-scale events.
